Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) organised the annual Ramadan Gathering for its employees. HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, senior DEWA officials, and many employees attended the event. This is a part of DEWA’s commitment to fostering a positive work environment and cohesion among employees. The gathering took place at Armani Hotel, Dubai.

Al Tayer congratulated DEWA’s employees on the occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan, asking Almighty Allah to make the Holy Month a month of benevolence and blessings for the UAE’s leaders, government, and people, and to achieve the aspirations of Arab and Islamic nations, and all peoples in a world filled with peace, security, and prosperity.

Al Tayer noted that the annual gathering is part of our commitment to fostering a positive atmosphere that brings DEWA’s staff closer together and contributes to consolidating the noble Islamic principles and authentic values of Emirati society. These values are rooted in righteousness, generosity, love, and benevolence, following the path set by our Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may his soul rest in peace.

“As we reflect on the noble teachings of Islam during the month of fasting and obedience, the Holy Month of Ramadan reminds us of the essence of worship in Islam and its role in refining the soul. It encourages us to self-discipline and train to be patient, forbearing, and to have virtuous morals, as well as do good deeds and spread peace, love, harmony, and compassion. In this regard, I am glad that DEWA’s employees consistently contribute to social and humanitarian efforts throughout the year. Between 2013 and 2023, DEWA launched 438 social initiatives, during which employees dedicated over 230,000 volunteer hours to humanitarian and community initiatives, benefiting millions of individuals in many countries worldwide,” added Al Tayer.

“We pray to Allah Almighty to protect the UAE and its wise leadership so that the country continues to be a beacon of humanitarian and charity work, spreading its message of peace and tolerance around the world. We also ask Allah Almighty to accept our fasting, prayers, and good deeds in this Holy Month,” concluded Al Tayer.

At the end of the event, Al Tayer honoured Sheikh Khaled Ismail Musabih, media personality Ayoub Yousef, and Islamic Munshid Abdullah Al Wasmi for their valuable contributions to enriching the event.

The event included various activities including an Islamic lecture, nasheeds (Islamic songs), competitions, and raffle draws for five Umrah trips, along with other valuable prizes. DEWA’s employees praised the Ramadan Gathering and expressed their gratitude to the top management for organising the event annually, as it enhances cohesion among them.
